Domino’s Pizza is one of India’s favourite pizzas, which thanks to its 1,600+ outlets is also the most accessible in the country. In this article, we aim to compare Domino’s Pizza order cost when ordered on Domino’s App to the one ordered on the Swiggy App. In addition, we will analyze the impact of the Swiggy HDFC credit card on the Domino’s Pizza order cost.
For this experiment, we decided to order one large Cheese Overload Pizza with extra cheese on both Domino’s Pizza and Swiggy Apps. This pizza costs around ₹1,000+, which is an average order value for a family. As expected the cost of the pizza was the same on both apps at ₹1,054. However, surprisingly Domino’s offered no discount coupons on the order while Swiggy was offering ₹175 discount on orders above ₹1,000. Both Apps offered free delivery, and after adding GST and restaurant charges the difference in cost stood at ₹178.70 in favour of Swiggy App. This makes Swiggy App 15.9% cheaper than Domino’s app before applying any credit card cashback.
Swiggy HDFC bank customers get a 10% cashback benefit on Swiggy food orders, which when applied brought the net cost on Swiggy to ₹853 compared to ₹1,115.43 on Domino’s app after adjusting 1% cashback. Thus, at the net cost level, Swiggy App proved to be ₹262.43 or 23.5% cheaper than Domino’s Pizza App.
